Pricing & Services

"The way Harper captures all the love you’re feeling and none of the awkwardness is just- *chef’s kiss*. There are no cringy prom poses, no weird acrobatic tricks to get gorgeous photos. She has simply mastered her art. So, you can keep reading Harper’s reviews but you’ll keep seeing the same thing repeated: “Harper is THE best photographer and you WILL NOT regret choosing her for any and all of your photography needs”.

How Many Hours Do You Need?

For most weddings happening at a single location, without any travel time between different getting ready and ceremony locations, I recommend having photography coverage start no less than 3 hours before your ceremony, and from there deciding whether or not it's important to you to keep me until the very end of the night. 8-9 hours is average, 10 hours usually allows for a more relaxed timeline of events, and any more is rarely needed unless there is something like travel between multiple location changes to account for.

BONUS TIP:

A great time to start your ceremony for a photogenic wedding is about 2 hours before the sun will set on your wedding date, which you can find by googling your date, location, and "sunset." This is true even if your ceremony will be indoors, if you have any plans to take outdoor photos before or after the ceremony.

Here's an example timeline to help show how your photography timeline can fit within an 8 hour coverage.

For this example, I'm using June 1st which has a sunset time of 8:30pm in Austin (be sure to google the actual sunset time for your wedding date and location), and I'm also pretending that this hypothetical couple are choosing not to do a First Look.:

SAMPLE TIMELINE:

3:30pm - Photography coverage begins > flay lays of details

4:00pm - Second shooter capturing tail-end of getting ready candids

4:25pm - Quick photos of Bride/Bridesmaids in robes/pajamas

4:30pm - Bridesmaids/MOB gets dressed > Second shooter w/ Groom

4:45pm - Bride gets into dress > photos of final touches/zipping/jewelry

5:00pm - Option for Bride's first look with dad

5:10pm - Bride/Bridesmaids portraits

5:40pm - Groom/Groomsmen portraits

6:00pm - Break/Hiding from arriving guests > photographers capture decor

6:30pm - Ceremony

7:00pm - Approximate ceremony-end time > gather family

7:10pm-7:30pm - Formal family group photos

7:30pm - Wedding Party group photos

7:40pm - Bride and Groom portraits

8:00pm - Bustle dress > reception intros > first dance

8:10pm - Dinner > photographers break for ~30 minutes

9:00pm - Toasts > Parent dances

9:30pm - Open dance floor

11:30pm - Send off > photography coverage ends

FAQs

Additional Info + Pricing FAQs

CAN WE ADD ADDITIONAL HOURS TO A PACKAGE?

YES! Additional hours of coverage are $450/hr.

WHAT IS A BRIDAL SESSION, AND SHOULD I DO ONE?

A bridal session is a photoshoot of just the bride at either the venue (if availability and/or budget allows) or at another location of choice, usually sometime within the 4-6 weeks before the wedding. This is sometimes used as a dress rehearsal, a way to trial the hair/make-up to see how it photographs incase you end up wanting to adjust anything, or as a way to get some photos to display as part of the wedding decor at the reception. Personally, I just think it's worth it to soak up your experience of getting to be the bride for once and having fun taking some amazing photos of you when we can have a full hour or more to devote to it! Realistically speaking, the wedding day itself has so many moving parts and often won't allow for nearly as much time to devote to dedicated bridal portraits, however that's not to say we won't get as many as we can on the actual wedding day if you don't opt to book a separate bridal session.

WHAT IS NEEDED TO BOOK?

A signed contract and a retainer of $1,500+tax (fully applied to your total balance) is due at the time of booking in order to reserve your date on my calendar, with the remainder of your total balance due by 1 week before your wedding. You'll also want to have your date set, and your venue booked before booking with me.

CAN WE ADD SOMETHING TO OUR PACKAGE LATER?

Yes, the only thing to consider is that anything added later will be at whatever the current pricing at that time is. So it's better to lock it in now when you know what the pricing is, incase my prices increase later.

HOW MUCH WOULD THE TRAVEL FEES BE FOR OUR OUT OF TOWN WEDDING?

Travel fees for weddings and photoshoots outside of a 100 mile radius of 78130 are 54¢ per round trip mile, plus $100 if overnight accomidations will be needed.

HOW MUCH TO ADD A BRIDAL SESSION or ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

All portrait sessions are $600

CAN WE HAVE OUR REHEARSAL DINNER PHOTOGRAPHED?

Yes! You can add rehearsal dinner coverage to your package at 450/hr if you'd like to, and will be photographed by myself if I'm available, otherwise I will send another photographer to shoot for me in my place under my brand.

CAN WE REMOVE THE SECOND SHOOTER FROM THE PACKAGE TO LOWER THE PRICE?

I personally only book weddings (or anything that wouldn't be reschedulable in an emergency) with a second shooter included as our back-up plan. They also help me tremendously to be in two places at once any time I need to be, which can come up even with the tiniest weddings.

CAN WE SWAP THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION FOR AN ADDITIONAL HOUR OF COVERAGE ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Sure! But I highly recommend doing an engagement session with me (even if you've already had photos with someone else) so that we are that much more comfortable with each other on the actual wedding day.

THERE WILL BE A BREAK BETWEEN OUR CEREMONY AND RECEPTION, DO WE NEED TO INCLUDE THIS TIME IN OUR TOTAL HOUR COUNT?

Yes, hours of coverage begins when I and my second shooter arrive to begin working, and ends when we leave at the very end regardless of whether or not all of that time is being spent taking photos.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Paypal or Credit/Debit. You'll receive online invoices for all payments, and auto-reminders when they are due or about to be due. I also accept tips (totally optional, but always appreciated) either in cash or through my personal venmo only if you ask me for it.

WE'RE HAVING A MICRO WEDDING/ELOPEMENT AND DON'T NEED 6+ HOURS, CAN WE BOOK SOMETHING SMALLER THAN YOUR STARTING PACKAGE?

Possibly! For peak seasons/dates I will typically stick to my starting price ($2,800) regardless of number of hours needed, but if you are inquiring for a date that I don't expect to be a popular one (or during a month where I won't already be at my max) I may be able to negotiate a smaller package. It never hurts to ask!

PORTRAIT & LIFESTYLE SESSIONS

I am available year-round for sessions in the greater Austin-San Antonio areas! I recommend reaching out at least two months before you'd like to shoot to insure availability, but I'm often available pretty last minute for weekday evening sessions (especially in winter and summer).

Sessions begin at $600 for 1 hour, 1 location anywhere in the greater Austin-San Antonio areas, and you can expect to receive a full, edited downloadable online gallery of at least 70 final images within just a few days of your session. Additional fees apply if you would like to shoot in multiple locations, locations with rental or photo pass fees, if you'd like to add a printed album, or shooting outside of my service area.
