I recommend reaching out to get on my schedule any time during your second trimester when possible, to ensure availability. We'll aim to get you on my calendar for a date that is about 2-4 weeks after your due date, but because newborns are unpredictable, this date is tentative (just to make sure we have something reserved) and you'll be welcome to reach out and shift the date, if needed, when your baby makes their actual entrance.

Most often, in your own home! Don't worry if your house isn't "aesthetic," what's important is that it's a place you are happy and comfortable, and we can always find little pockets of light by a window or a cozy spot to work with. You don't even need to worry about cleaning your whole house, just make sure a few key spots are ready for us, most often your bedroom, maybe an area of your living room, even a cute spot on your back porch. If you would prefer not to use your home, Georgetown has a couple of studios that I can help guide you to that are rentable by the hour.

As a mom of 4, I know that when you are postpartum and adjusting to life with your newborn, the last thing you may want to do is have a photographer holding you hostage for a 3-4 hour photoshoot. My sessions are easy, quiet, simple, and typically last roughly 60 minutes (sometimes 90 minutes if your baby is fussy, needs to break to eat more than once, or if we just end up chatting lol). It'll go by quickly, and I prioritize your comfort and avoiding overwhelming you as much as possible. If an hour sounds like too much for you, you're even more than welcome to request that I keep things closer to 30 minutes and more minimal.

When in doubt, neutral, comfortable clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your connection. But ultimately, whatever you are happy in. These photos can be aesthetic and magazine-worthy, or you can be in graphic t-shirts and jeans if that's what feels right, my main goal is capturing the heart of your family and the memories of this brief and amazing time of your lives!

Absolutely, everyone has different preferences for this these days and I'm happy to keep photos that show your baby's face off of the internet, or not post any at all, whatever you prefer.

Personally, I can completely understand just flat out not feeling like being photographed while post partum, so it's not required if you just want me to capture your newborn by themselves, primarily, while they're still squishy and brand new.

I'll start editing (and have any film that I shoot developed) immediately after your session, and you should receive your finished gallery by email within just 1-2 weeks of your session. Your gallery will look like this, is easy to download (without limits) and share with friend and family, and order prints or printed photobooks if you'd like from the connected print shop (optional).
